Prepare yourselves for something special! One of the cleanest L-Series Strats we have ever come across here at PREMIER GUITARS in stunning Lake Placid Blue.

This is a 1965 Fender Stratocaster built in Fullerton USA, most importantly with the coveted “L Series” serial number. So this guitar was built before the boffins at new owner CBS started to change several things about the Stratocaster including the headstock and overall body shape.

This one is finished in the Fender custom colour of Lake Placid Blue which has hardly aged at all, in fact the finish on this guitar may be the best we have ever seen on a guitar of this vintage. Some very light checking on the back but this beauty really must be seen to be believed!

Everything on this guitar appears to be original including pickups, tuners, nut, frets, bridge assembly & saddles, knobs, 3 way & switch tip, strap pins and input socket. The pickguard is still flat and in proper shape. It shows no shrinkage or buckling.

It has a beautiful one piece C-shape maple neck with and pearloid dot markers and a remarkably light and uniquely patterned Brazilian rosewood fingerboard - absolutely gorgeous! The front of the headstock is unmarked and shows the Fender “transition” logo from 1965 with no blemishes.

The frets appear to be original with plenty of life left in them.

This one presents in excellent condition, and it plays exceptionally well. With a nice low action it's a delight to play up and down the board. Everything appears to be untouched under the hood. A set of nice grey bottom staggered pole pickups, original cloth wiring and undisturbed solder joints.

This guitar presents in almost mint condition bar a small dent near the jack plate (pictured), another small indentation on the back and a handful of tiny spots where the Lake Placid Blue paint has chipped back to the white. Overall this Strat would be considered excellent to mint condition - a collectors dream.

This is a beautiful sounding instrument – everything you could hope for from a wonderful L Series Strat. The original pickups have plenty of mid-range bite and clarity for days, classic bell-like tones with a dash of vintage shimmer.

This is a very original Fender Strat comes in its original black tolex Fender case in good condition accompanied by original Fender strap, original Fender guitar lead, ashtray and authentic 1964/65 Fender brochure/catalogue.
