SOLD
Here is a nice Fender Stratocaster, built in Fullerton California in 1979 and finished in a classy all natural finish. It features a solid ash 3 piece body and a bolt-on maple neck with rosewood fingerboard. And it is in very condition for a 40+ year old guitar.
It has some expected dings and dents in the finish, a few light scuffs here and there, but nothing significant. There are some scuffs on the back but almost no buckle rash to speak of, and there is only minor tarnishing of the metal parts. The neck is straight and super clean front and back. There are no structural issues, and this thing feels great to play.
The frets are in great shape, all electronics work 100%, the neck is clean & comfortable, and the pickups are solid and punchy. It has a 5-way blade switch, original F tuners & the truss rod works perfectly. And while the tremolo bridge works just fine, the trem arm is missing.
It weighs in at 9.7 lbs which is on the solid side, but some would say that contributes to its tough, meaty sound.
All but one of the original cast bridge saddles have been replaced with vintage style bent steel units. It has had a good pro refret with jumbo frets, making this guitar very appealing to string benders.
All in all, an excellent, almost original late 70s Strat in classic natural finish, with that magnificent oversize headstock, rear skunk stripe and a 3 bolt neck joint that does NOT move or slide around. Quite a looker, with sound to match. This one is super clean for a 42 year old guitar.
Comes in a later tweed hard shell case in good condition.
