Here is a lovely vintage Fender Stratocaster, USA made in 1972 and refinished a long time ago in a subtle Sonic Blue.
This one is in super clean condition for a guitar hitting its half century this year. The refin is a good pro job from long ago, so it’s already started mildly discolouring – in a good way.
It has also been given an excellent pro refret with medium jumbos, which remain in excellent condition.
The neck is super clean, with a very comfortable full D profile and dark rosewood fingerboard with pearloid dots.
The body has a few expected scuffs & minor chips here and there but nothing offensive. It shows almost no marks on the rear, and virtually no tarnishing of the metal parts.
3 x original (we think) staggered pole, grey bottom pickups
Tremolo bridge with original cast saddles
Original F tuners
3 ply laminated pickguard
Bullet truss rod & rear skunk stripe
Large headstock with Fender logo & stickers all intact
3 bolt neck joint with tilt adjustment
Volume & upper tone pot codes 1377206 = 1972
Lower tone pot is a replacement dated 1979
Original tone knobs
Volume knob is a replacement
Neck date is 22 May 1972
Weight is 7.58 lbs
This nice old Strat has a super comfortable neck with a nut width of 42 mm (1.654”) and standard vintage Fender radius is 71/2” but string bending is clean and easy, courtesy of the excellent newer jumbo frets.
The pickups are bright and snappy sounding. The bridge is rock solid, and there are no tuning issues. The classic reverse-F tuners work perfectly and look fabulous.
All in all, an excellent early 70s Strat with a set of great sounding pickups, that magnificent oversize headstock, rear skunk stripe and a 3 bolt neck joint that does NOT move or slide around.
Quite a looker, with sound to match.
Comes in a non original hard case in good condition.
