PRS DW CE 24 Floyd - USA 2020

The PRS DW CE 24 Floyd is a purpose-built performance machine, and this 2020 USA-built example finished in Waring Burst captures exactly what the model set out to achieve. Designed in collaboration with Dustie Waring, it takes the familiar snap and immediacy of the CE bolt-on platform and sharpens it into something far more aggressive, precise and modern.

The Waring Burst finish is a big part of the guitar’s identity. It highlights the maple top beautifully, shifting under light and giving the instrument a darker, more menacing edge that suits its high-performance intent. It’s a finish that feels considered rather than decorative, perfectly matched to the guitar’s no-nonsense personality.

Central to the DW CE 24 Floyd are the Mojotone DW Tomahawk humbuckers. Designed specifically for this model, they deliver high output with a tight, controlled low end and exceptional clarity, even under heavy gain. Chords stay defined, fast runs remain articulate, and single notes cut through with authority. The 5-way blade selector adds real versatility, opening up a range of usable voices that go well beyond full-throttle modern drive.

Playability is outstanding. The bolt-on maple neck has a satin finish and a modified Pattern Thin profile that feels fast, accurate and immediately familiar. It encourages confident movement across the fretboard without feeling insubstantial. The Floyd Rose tremolo is rock-solid and smooth, built for aggressive use while maintaining excellent tuning stability, making this a genuinely stage-ready instrument.

Tonally, the guitar has a sharp, percussive attack paired with strong sustain and an even response up the neck. It’s responsive and honest, rewarding clean technique and precision while delivering the punch and control demanded by modern players.

Presented in excellent condition, this PRS DW CE 24 Floyd in Waring Burst is a focused, professional-grade instrument that prioritises performance without sacrificing refinement.
