Peter Florance was a great guitar player, a highly regarded luthier and he knew about great tone. He operated out of Honesdale, Pennsylvania and hand wound all of his pickups meticulously. Sadly Peter passed away in 2019. However he left a legacy of producing some of the greatest guitar pickups ever made. These pickups were made in small numbers by Peter and are now highly sought after as they are no longer being produced.  

We at Premier Guitars are big fans of Pete Florance’s Voodoo pickups. And we’re not alone. Legendary guitarists and master chasers of tone such as Brad Paisley have been champions of Florance Voodoo pickups. Master luthier Bill Crooks worked closely with Peter Florance to make some of the greatest contemporary builds of various Gibson Fender and hybrid guitars.  

These pickups come with black soap bar coverings. The neck pickup is Alnico 3, with the bridge pickup Alnico 5. These pickups are new old stock, purchased new approximately 23 years ago and never fitted to a guitar.
