The J-185 was introduced in 1951 and quickly became a best-seller in the jumbo line. With a slightly smaller body than its fabled cousin, the SJ-200. The J-185 offers an excellent alternative for players looking for the power and projection of the Super Jumbo in a smaller body style. This J-185 12 String produces a clear, bright tone with beautifully balanced sonic range.
It has a dovetail neck-to-body joint, hand-fitted and secured with hide glue which ensures unequalled resonance transfer from strings to body. It also has a radiused body for projection and clarity, and its special nitrocellulose lacquer finish which allows the guitar's tone to mature with age.

This fine Gibson J-185 12-string was built in April 2000 at the Gibson Bozeman plant in Montana. She is in great condition with some typical light player wear – various minor nicks & dings, surface scratches & mild weather checking. The neck is the well known wide, flat profile mahogany neck and is extremely comfortable to play. This is definitely one of the easiest playing 12 strings we have come across.
Frets show very little wear, and have lots of life in them. Grover mini tuners are in perfect working condition.
The smaller body is very comfortable to play, yet is still deep enough for the notes to really ring out with chimy, bell-like tones. Professionally set up & ready for action.
Comes with its original plush lined Gibson hard case in excellent condition.
