Mosrite Mark I 1964 Reissue - USA 2012

Here’s a fantastic example of the Mosrite Mark I 1964 Reissue, built in the USA to vintage-correct specs with superb attention to detail. These highly accurate reissues were produced in limited numbers during the 2010s under the guidance of the Moseley family, capturing the fast-playing feel and unique voice of the original California-made Mosrites of the ‘60s.

Finished in deep gloss black and bearing the iconic “Mosrite Original – Made in USA” headstock logo, this Mark I reissue delivers the signature tone and playability that made Mosrite a favourite of surf, punk, and garage players — from The Ventures to Johnny Ramone.

The slim neck is lightning fast, measuring 20.23mm at the first fret and 21.68mm at the 12th, with a nut width of 39.36mm and low action (0.5mm at the 1st fret, 2.0mm at the 12th). It's beautifully balanced and weighs in at 3.93kg (8.66lb) — a comfortable and lively instrument to play standing or seated. The Mosrite-style single coil pickups are clear, jangly, and full of attack, with razor-sharp treble detail and rock-solid low end.

Cosmetically, it presents very cleanly. There’s some light, honest wear from use — a few minor surface marks, but nothing structural or affecting performance. All electronics function flawlessly, and the guitar remains in stock condition as it left the factory. It comes housed in its original brown snakeskin Mosrite-labelled hard case — a standout feature in itself.
