Morgan JS12 Josh Smith Signature Tweed Combo - USA 2022

Here is a 2022 Morgan JS12 combo in tweed, a near-new example of one of Morgan’s most expressive low-wattage boutique amplifiers. Designed in collaboration with acclaimed blues guitarist Josh Smith, the JS series was developed to capture his signature feel, touch sensitivity, and dynamic control. The JS12 reflects that philosophy, offering a highly responsive playing experience that prioritises interaction and nuance over complexity.

This example is voiced around classic American-style clean tones with a strong midrange presence, natural compression, and a smooth, balanced top end. It remains clear and articulate at lower volumes, while transitioning into a rich, harmonically complex breakup when pushed. The amp responds immediately to pick attack and guitar volume changes, making it highly dynamic and expressive under the fingers, and it pairs exceptionally well with pedals.

The tweed covering gives it a timeless vintage aesthetic, while Morgan’s build quality ensures a premium feel throughout, with high-grade components, solid cabinet construction, and a very low noise floor. The single 12-inch speaker provides a broad and usable tonal range, with warm harmonics, controlled low end, and excellent clarity, making it equally effective for recording and live performance in small to medium settings.

Condition is near new with no notable wear and everything functioning as intended. A lightweight, boutique-quality amplifier that delivers inspiring feel, classic American voicing, and the dynamic responsiveness associated with Josh Smith’s playing style.
