In 2014, George Lowden celebrated forty years as one of the world's most respected acoustic guitar builders. To mark the occasion, Lowden released a series of special 40th Anniversary instruments, commemorating four decades of craftsmanship, innovation, and the pursuit of a distinctive acoustic voice. This F-35 40th Anniversary, built in 2014, represents that milestone and celebrates the legacy of one of the most influential names in modern acoustic guitar making.

Built in Downpatrick, Northern Ireland, this F-35 combines a redwood soundboard with beautifully figured cocobolo back and sides, producing an exceptionally rich and expressive voice. The warmth and sensitivity of the redwood are complemented by the depth, clarity, and shimmering overtones of the cocobolo, resulting in an instrument with remarkable balance, sustain, and dynamic range. Whether played with fingers or a flatpick, every note retains outstanding definition while blooming with the complex harmonics that have become synonymous with Lowden guitars.

The F body has become one of George Lowden's most celebrated designs, offering the perfect middle ground between comfort and projection. Equally at home on stage, in the studio, or as a songwriting companion, it delivers a focused midrange, articulate trebles, and controlled bass response that adapt effortlessly across a wide range of playing styles.

Built as part of the 40th Anniversary collection, this guitar features exclusive anniversary appointments including a commemorative headstock and headstock inlay, alongside the premium appointments expected from a 35 Series instrument. Figured maple binding, mahogany, rosewood and maple purfling, ebony appointments, and gold Gotoh 510 tuners with ebony buttons complete an instrument that celebrates both George Lowden's remarkable legacy and the uncompromising craftsmanship that has defined the brand for over four decades. Condition is excellent overall, with only a small cosmetic chip to the bass side edge of the headstock and a very small blemish on the back of the guitar, both of which are purely cosmetic and do not affect the instrument's playability or performance.
