Koll Troubadour - USA 2013

Here is a Koll Troubadour, a boutique USA-built instrument handcrafted in Portland, Oregon by master luthier Saul Koll and his team. Known for highly individual designs and exceptional build quality, Koll Guitars are created with a philosophy of blending innovative design with player-focused functionality, resulting in instruments that feel immediately responsive and deeply personal in the hands of the player.

This example features a single TV Jones pickup in the bridge position, delivering a clear, articulate and vintage-inspired voice with strong twang, balanced output and excellent note definition. It captures a classic Filter’Tron-style character, offering bright, open highs with a tight, focused low end and a naturally dynamic response that works beautifully for clean, ambient, and lightly driven tones.

The guitar is built around a comfortable medium “C” shaped neck with a smooth rosewood fingerboard and compound radius, making chordal work and lead playing equally effortless across the entire fretboard. The minimalist single-pickup layout keeps the signal path direct and expressive, encouraging dynamic playing and tonal variation through touch and technique alone.

Finished in a striking Sonic Mary colourway, this Troubadour presents beautifully, showcasing Koll’s attention to detail in both design and craftsmanship. The lightweight construction and refined ergonomics make it exceptionally comfortable, while the overall build quality reflects the standards expected from a high-end boutique instrument.

Condition is excellent with only light signs of handling, and it plays superbly with a fast, responsive feel. A distinctive and highly musical boutique guitar that delivers individuality, clarity, and exceptional playability.
