Hofner 500/1 'Beatle Bass' - Germany 1962

Here is a Hofner 500/1 Violin Bass, designed by Walter Hofner and first introduced at the Frankfurt Music Messe in 1956. Since its release, it has become one of the most instantly recognisable bass guitars in music history, both visually and sonically, and is forever associated with its most famous player, Paul McCartney of The Beatles. This association has earned it the nickname the “Beatle Bass”, cementing its place as a true cultural icon.
