‘Chet Atkins is to Gretsch what Les Paul is to Gibson. Their endorsement of electric guitars, let alone their influence on the development of music technology and recording technique, is legendary. And, as well as being among the leading artists in their field, they also had more than a passing interest in science, engineering and inventing new technology - they were what you might call ‘renaissance men’.
The 6122 Chet Atkins Country Gentleman (often referred to as the ‘Country Gent’) represents a landmark in the history of guitar evolution.’

The 6122 Country Gent is an impressive guitar, one of the finest in the entire catalogue. It is fully hollow, double cut and made completely of laminated maple. Maple neck completes the construction. It is set in and equipped with a standard contour in the back.
This guitar presents remarkably well for a 55-year-old instrument, it really has been looked after well. The body is very clean, with a few small marks and dings, some buckle rash on the back and some early signs of binding rot, but most of the binding is intact and present. There is some slight checking on the body which looks fanatstic and aligns with the age of the guitar. The C-shape neck is smooth and clean and plays well.
With its sumptuous tone, silky feel, and staggering looks, this 1967 Gretsch Country Gent has the goods to captivate jazz & country players, as well as classic rock, rockabilly & new wave aficionados alike.
Comes with its original Gretsch hard-shell case.
