Gibson Les Paul Standard LPR-9 '59 Reissue 60th Anniversary - USA 2019

The 2019 Gibson Les Paul Standard LPR-9 '59 Reissue 60th Anniversary pays tribute to what is arguably the most iconic electric guitar of all time—the 1959 Les Paul Standard. Originally overlooked upon its release, the '59 Les Paul later became legendary for its exquisite tone, stunning flame maple tops, and exceptional playability. Favoured by some of the greatest guitarists in history, including Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, and Billy Gibbons, the 1959 Les Paul has become the gold standard for vintage electric guitars. Gibson’s 60th Anniversary reissue captures every detail of the original, using period-correct materials, construction techniques, and meticulous ageing processes to recreate the magic of the original 'Bursts.

This LPR-9 features a beautifully carved flame maple top over a solid mahogany body, finished in an ultra-thin nitrocellulose lacquer for maximum resonance and vintage aesthetics. The ’59 Medium C neck profile is incredibly comfortable, paired with an Indian rosewood fretboard for a smooth playing experience. Under the hood, a set of un-potted Custombucker Alnico III pickups delivers that unmistakable PAF tone - rich, dynamic, and endlessly expressive. The hand-wired electronics with CTS potentiometers and Bumblebee capacitors further enhance the guitar’s vintage-accurate response, while the lightweight aluminium stop tailpiece and ABR-1 bridge provide classic sustain and tuning stability. From glassy cleans to roaring overdrive, this Les Paul sings with warmth, depth, and unparalleled harmonic complexity. Remarkably light for a Les Paul at just 8.25lbs, this guitar offers incredible comfort without sacrificing the legendary depth and resonance that define the '59 sound.

Presented in near-new condition, this guitar has been meticulously cared for, showing only the lightest signs of handling. It comes complete with all original case candy, including the 60th Anniversary Certificate of Authenticity, vintage-style tags, and period-correct accessories. Housed in its original Gibson hardshell case, this exceptional reissue is a stunning example of Gibson’s craftsmanship and a perfect tribute to the 1959 classic.
