Gibson Les Paul Standard 1958 Reissue LPR-8 - USA 2007

Gibson’s Les Paul Reissues have long been revered for their dedication to capturing the spirit, feel, and sound of the legendary late-’50s Bursts - and this 2007 Custom Shop LPR-8 is a stunning example of that legacy in action.

The LPR-8 takes inspiration from the earliest of the sunburst-era Bursts, featuring a chunky neck profile, understated flame tops, and warm, punchy tone that helped define the sound of blues and rock for generations. Finished in a vibrant Cherry Burst, this 2007 example hails from a period widely considered one of Gibson Custom’s more consistent eras, with a strong reputation for high-quality tops, tight build specs, and excellent tonewoods.

This guitar is in excellent condition overall, with only light signs of play. The nickel hardware has gently tarnished, adding a layer of authentic vintage character that suits the look perfectly. The carved maple top shows light figuring beneath the Cherry Burst finish—true to the 1958 spec aesthetic, which leaned toward plain tops and subtle flames over the later bookmatched tops seen on ’59 models.

Tonally, it delivers everything you’d expect from a great Les Paul: articulate highs, a rich midrange, and a resonant low end. The Burstbucker pickups translate dynamics beautifully, whether you're digging into bluesy bends or rolling back the volume for glassy cleans. The neck feels substantial without being overbearing - exactly what many players chase in a ’58 reissue.

Comes complete with its original Gibson Custom hardshell case but unfortunately no Certificate of Authenticity.
