‘In 1987 Gibson also introduced the Gibson Chet Atkins SST; a steel string solid body acoustic electric guitar, with a single cutaway, transducer pick up, active bass and treble controls and fitted with gold hardware. 

The Gibson Chet Atkins SST featured a simulated soundhole and a plain headstock with no logo until 1993, when the soundhole was removed and the headstock took a more modern look with a star logo. The SST uses a chambered body with a Balsa center block and a bridge transducer with onboard electronics’

This beauty has hardly been played over its lifetime which shows in its great condition, there is very little player wear, the frets are in great shape and there is only the odd tiny nick or dent in the top. The back does display some buckle rash but nothing offensive. There is a small dent in the back of the neck but doesn’t affect the playing ability of the guitar, and some of the gold hardware is tarnishing slightly which we thinks adds to its appeal. The guitar has been expertly setup and serviced by the team at the Guitar Factory, Parramatta. 

This is a really cool Gibson Chet Atkins SST sporting a classic Ebony finish. A killer sounding, stage ready acoustic/electric with marvelous tone and remarkable playability. 

Comes in its original Gibson hard-shell case.
