Here is a nice Fender Stratocaster, built in Fullerton California in 1979 and was refinished around 2002 in a stunning Candy Apple Red. It features a solid ash 3-piece body and a bolt-on maple neck with maple fingerboard. And it is in very condition for a 40+ year old guitar.
It has a few dings and dents in the finish, a few light scuffs here and there, but nothing significant. There are some scuffs on the back at the bottom but almost no buckle rash to speak of, and there is only minor tarnishing of the metal parts. The neck is straight and super clean front and back. There are no structural issues, and this thing feels great to play.
The frets are in great shape, all electronics work 100%, the neck is clean & comfortable, and the pickups are solid and punchy. It has a 5-way blade switch, original F tuners & the truss rod works perfectly. And the tremolo bridge works just fine.
It weighs in at 8.2lbs which is on the lighter side for 70s Strats, but still has a tough, meaty sound.
The guitar has new tone and volume knobs and a new switch. The refin job is a good one, and the Candy Apple Red really pops and contrasts nicely with the later added pearloid pickguard.
All in all, an excellent, almost original late 70s Strat, with that magnificent oversize headstock, rear skunk stripe and a 3-bolt neck joint that does NOT move or slide around. Quite a looker, with sound to match. This one is super clean for a 43-year old guitar.
Comes in a Fender hard shell case in good condition.
