Fender Strat Plus Deluxe – USA 1989

The Fender Strat Plus Series was introduced in 1987 and started with the Plus, then in July of 1989 the Plus Deluxe, followed by the Ultra in January 1990, with Fender ending production in 1998. All were 22 fret, had locking tuners, roller nut and Lace Sensor pickups.

This 1989 Strat Plus Deluxe model has an LSR roller nut that makes string changes quick and easy. All of the early models, from 1987 through early 1990 came with a plain white pickguard as seen on this guitar. The neck has the micro-tilt adjustment, there is an Allen screw under the Fender neck plate that allows for neck tilt avoiding the use of shims.

Whilst the Strat Plus Deluxe models originally came with the Lace Sensor pickups, in this particular guitar they have been replaced with a set of Fender Custom Shop ’54 pickups which sound fantastic.

This guitar has had a full refret, with medium jumbo frets expertly installed by one of the best in the business, Greg Fryer.

This Fender Strat Plus Deluxe is the ultimate gigging guitar in our opinion. It is extremely well built; the Gun Metal Blue Metallic finish is exquisite; it plays beautifully, and it looks and sounds like a classic Strat should!

These Strat Plus Deluxe guitars were the “Cadillac” models, second only to the Custom Shop at the time. Probably the best built guitars Fender ever had come off the production line. These guitars are starting to become more collectable and newer players have discovered just how nice they are.

Comes with all original sales tags, and in its original hard-shell case in good condition.
