Here is a 2000 Fender American Vintage ’62 Jazz Bass in Metallic Ice Blue, a beautifully executed USA reissue and the matching sibling to the listed ’62 AVRI Strat (stock #22043) here at Premier Guitars, Sydney. The American Vintage Series was designed to faithfully recreate Fender’s most iconic pre-CBS instruments using original tooling, period-correct specifications, and vintage-accurate construction methods, capturing both the look and feel of the originals.

This example follows the classic early ’60s Jazz Bass formula, featuring the offset waist body, slim fast-action neck profile, and dual single-coil pickup configuration. It retains the distinctive stacked concentric control layout, giving independent volume and tone control for each pickup, and delivers the wide tonal flexibility the Jazz Bass is known for. From the articulate bridge pickup bite to the warmer, round neck pickup voice, it covers everything from tight modern definition to classic vintage low-end warmth.

Cosmetically and structurally, this instrument presents in exceptional condition, having been carefully stored since new with virtually no visible player wear. The Metallic Ice Blue finish remains clean and untouched, and all electronics operate silently and as intended. It plays effortlessly across the full neck with that familiar fast, narrow Jazz Bass feel and excellent balance.

It comes complete with its original Fender brown tolex hard shell case and case candy, including bridge and pickup covers (not yet fitted, with no body drilling). A rare, collector-grade example of a highly sought-after colourway in outstanding original condition, and a true counterpart to its matching AVRI Strat companion.
