Fender American Standard Precision Bass - USA 2008

Here is a 2008 Fender American Standard Precision Bass in champagne gloss with a maple fingerboard, a beautifully built USA model representing the modern evolution of Fender’s most important electric bass design. First introduced in 1951 by Leo Fender, the Precision Bass was the first mass-produced electric bass guitar, combining a solid-body construction, fretted neck, and split single-coil pickup to redefine the role of the bass in popular music.

The American Standard series, reintroduced and refined over the decades, represents a key modern benchmark for Fender production, balancing classic Precision Bass character with improved playability, updated hardware, and consistent factory refinement. This model retains the familiar Precision formula while offering a more contemporary feel suited to modern stage and studio use.

This example features a sleek champagne gloss finish paired with a maple fingerboard and traditional body contours. The vintage-inspired radius and ergonomic shaping provide a comfortable playing experience, while maintaining the authoritative look and feel associated with the Precision Bass lineage.

In the hands, it delivers the unmistakable P-Bass voice—solid, focused low end, strong midrange presence, and a punchy, mix-ready attack that has made it a studio staple across decades of recorded music. It responds with consistency and authority whether played with fingers or pick.

Condition is great overall, showing some light signs of use consistent with age. There are a few minor bumps along the sides, while the top, back, and neck remain notably clean. Some light surface rust is present on a few pickguard screws and around the input jack. It has undergone a full health check, including truss rod, electronics, and hardware inspection, with all components functioning correctly.
