“The 49er is a solidbody, dual pickup, 22 fret electric guitar, featuring a solid arched top, a string-through-body tailpiece and a 647mm scale.

Following traditional tone and resonance principles, mahogany and maple are our choice woods for the 49er. The one-piece neck and body is made from premium mahogany, while the solid top is crafted from naturally grained maple.

The 49er was designed with traditional rock values in mind, however, you still get the modern features Duesenbergs are known for. The 49er is equipped with our proven pickup combination of a classically wound GrandVintage humbucker and a creamy Domino P90 single coil. In the middle position of the heavy duty 3-way switch, certain low end frequencies are filtered out of the humbucker signal, allowing for a distinct and actually usable middle position tone. And it will set you apart from all others.

All our instruments are fitted with our own hardware, which you will only find on a Duesenberg. We design it with attention to even the smallest details to create truly unique instruments from tuner buttons to jack plates.

All our fretboards are carefully plecked and finished by hand for optimum playability and the smooth feel they are famous for.

A unique feature of the 49er is the adjustable STB system, whereby the guitar strings are drawn through the body for optimal transfer of vibration. Furthermore, pressure at the bridge can be fine-tuned according to preference for each individual string.

This guitar has that archetypal Les Paul feel. And with its combination of a stunning black finish on the body, nickel hardware and white laminated guard, it certainly ventures into the vibe of a classic Les Paul Black Beauty Custom.

And it’s a rarity – a lefty !  We don’t see too many left handed solid body guitars come through our door for sale, but and this is certainly one of the highest quality LH instruments we have listed.

Being a Duesy, sound transfer is supplied by a Domino P90 single coil at the neck and a Grand Vintage humbucker at the bridge. It is a great combination of pickups which offers a great variety of tones to choose from.

This guitar is in excellent condition with very little player wear showing. Frets look unmarked, neck is straight, tuners are strong. It is well set up and plays comfortably in all positions with a medium low action.

It came to its current owner as part of a trade and arrived in his possession without a case.

Which is also the way it is offered for sale, but an after market LP size case will probably cost around AUD$100 new.
