Cornerstone Gladio Dual Preamp - ITA 2021

Introduced in 2020, the Cornerstone Gladio Double Preamp was designed as a faithful interpretation of the legendary Dumble amplifier platform, offering two independent preamp circuits within a single enclosure. Rather than functioning as a conventional overdrive, the Gladio is intended to be run into a clean amplifier, recreating the dynamic response, natural compression and harmonic complexity associated with some of the world's most sought after boutique amplifiers. Hand built in Italy, the original dual channel Gladio remained in production until late 2022 and has become one of Cornerstone Music Gear's most celebrated designs.

The left channel is voiced after the smooth, touch sensitive overdrive tones associated with Robben Ford, delivering exceptional clarity, soft clipping and amplifier like compression. The right channel takes inspiration from Sonny Landreth's more aggressive lead sound, producing increased harmonic saturation with a harder clipping response. A centre Single/Double toggle allows the pedal to operate either as an A/B switcher between both channels or as a cascading dual preamp, stacking the two circuits together for greater sustain, gain and harmonic richness.

Further refinement comes from selectable compression settings on Channel 1, a Jazz/Rock voicing switch on Channel 2 that recreates the EQ characteristics found on original Dumble amplifiers, and internal bass and presence trim controls that allow the pedal to be tailored to different guitars and amplifiers. The result is an exceptionally versatile dual preamp capable of everything from articulate low gain breakup through to rich, singing lead tones while retaining outstanding touch sensitivity throughout.
