    ENQUIRE ABOUT THIS PRODUCT

By the time Elmer Stromberg began crafting guitars in Boston, the Vega Company had already established a strong reputation in the city, having produced instruments there for over a generation. Renowned as one of the leading banjo manufacturers, Vega ventured into the archtop guitar market in 1933, quickly gaining acclaim for their top-quality, hand-carved instruments.

This particular guitar exemplifies Vega's excellence during their prime years, featuring a meticulously hand-carved, solid spruce top. It boasts a striking tiger flame maple back and sides, showcasing the exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail that Vega was known for.

This Vega has had some modifications over its lifetime including replacement tuners, a replacement nut and the addition of a hand wound Kent Armstrong PAF-0 floating pickup. These PAF-0 model pickups are known among luthiers and guitarists for their superlative tone. The sound is warm and rich with great clarity and string selection. Acoustically this guitar has a warm, vintage and balanced tone, and the playability is excellent with a nice low action and plenty of fret-life left.

This C-66 Advanced Model was bought from Norm's Rare Guitars in LA approximately 10 years ago and has been well looked after since then. It presents wonderfully for its age, with a gorgeous natural blonde finish with stunning, light checking over the body. This Vega not only represents a significant piece of musical history but also continues to deliver outstanding tonal quality and visual appeal.

Comes in a non-original Gibson HSC in good condition.
