This is a spectacular and very elusive package --- a killer JCM 800 head and matching 1960A 4 x 12 cabinet dressed to kill in one of the most rare Marshall tolex coverings of all - Burgundy Snakeskin.

    From Marshall –

“This JCM800 re-issue, 2203 model (’81–’84), is one of the most highly respected 100 Watt Marshall® heads.

Originally evolving from the ‘Plexi’ head, the JCM800 was one of our first amplifiers to feature a Master Volume control.

The JCM800 2203 remains the essence of simplicity; it has one channel with no Reverb.

Its purist-pleasing front panel and distinctive roar set the standard by which all other rock amps were judged.

And it is still produced because of continued artist use, and of course by popular demand.

The only modern addition made to the JCM800 2203 is a tonally transparent Series FX Loop.

Playing through the 2203 is like flicking a switch for instant metal-hero status: imperious rock tones roll out effortlessly from your fingertips.”

The 1960A (angled) cabinets came about because Jim Marshall felt a head-on straight front cab just didn't look well designed. The sides and baffle of the cabinet feature an angled cut. This has both a cosmetic impact and a sonic one, because the top two 12" speakers angle slightly upwards. It has more sonic dispersion and is a little brighter-sounding than a straight cabinet.

The 1960A produces a loud, well-focused, and uncluttered sound with a tight, full low end and a crisp, clear top. It projects well across the guitar's entire tonal range and its clarity makes it ideal for players who like using a fair amount of effects such as reverb, chorus, or delay as it doesn't mask or muddy-up such FX. Its all-around versatility and relatively uncoloured nature makes this one of Marshall's best-selling cabs. It represents the sound of the guitar and head most accurately.

This rig was bought new in 2015 and has been in a home studio environment. It has never been to a rehearsal room, let alone any stage. As such, it presents in new condition in every way. It shows no marks or wear of any kind, not even any dust !

And does it deliver ? Well, yes. This beast is classic Marshall – it has that big fat Brit sound, in keeping with all your Marshall expectations. It is easy to dial up that classic British crunch, and then send it into dripping overdrive at will.

The Marshall JCM800 2203 tube amp head packs 100-watts of power into a classic one channel design.

And the Marshall 1960 cabinets are the best selling amp cabinets in the world – for good reason.

Obviously this amp has a ton of headroom which makes it a perfect platform for players who use a few pedals. Its clean sound is warm and woody in the mids and lows and sweet in the trebles, and it works beautifully for just about every application.

It's not a quiet amplifier, but if you're lucky enough to be able to crank the JCM800 into its sweet spot you'll have the tone that shaped the sound of rock.

Needless to say, any Marshall rig in Burgundy Snakeskin is almost impossible to find. They were made in this matching configuration for only a short time in 2015. And this head & cab are both in stunning, as new condition – not a mark on them anywhere.
