First introduced in 2003, the Songwriter combines Gibson’s time-honored bracing patterns of the 1930’s with the original dreadnought shape, providing a supreme tonal quality. Featuring beautiful rosewood back and sides paired with a Sitka spruce top. The Songwriter is Gibson’s modern rosewood dreadnought with a superior dynamic range.
The "EC" in the name stands for "Electric Cutaway," indicating that this guitar is equipped with onboard electronics – a Fishman Prefix Plus-T pickup with EQ settings of bass, contour, treble and brilliance. The Fishman system sounds fantastic and really shows off the guitar’s acoustic qualities.
With its square-shoulder dreadnought body shape, the Songwriter Studio Deluxe EC offers a balanced tonal response, making it suitable for a variety of playing styles and genres. The guitar has a strong midrange presence, providing excellent projection and the ability to cut through in ensemble settings.
This Gibson presents in great condition, showing little sign of player wear. There are no bruises or dents on the body, the neck is smooth and clean. The frets are in near-new condition with a long life in front of them. A great-looking and sounding Gibson in excellent shape for performing and, as its name suggests, songwriting!
This guitar was bought in Nashville and was once owned by country music legend Randy Travis’s guitarist – so it has a nice little piece of country music provenance!
