Introduced in 1958 as the top-of-the-line model in Gibson’s ES (Electric Spanish) series, the ES-355 was designed as the more luxurious sibling to the ES-335 and ES-345. With its elegant appointments and refined sound, it quickly became a favourite of legends like B.B. King, Chuck Berry, and Keith Richards—artists who valued tone and style in equal measure.

This Custom Shop reissue captures all the vintage magic, from the double-bound semi-hollow body to the split diamond headstock inlay and multi-ply binding. The laminated maple body and mahogany neck provide warmth, clarity, and punch, while the ebony fingerboard adds a touch of top-end articulation. The original humbuckers deliver that classic Gibson semi-hollow tone—rich and resonant, with excellent note separation, perfect for everything from smooth jazz to gritty blues and rock.
