It is difficult to overstate the significance of the Fender Precision Bass, an absolutely revolutionary instrument which was introduced in 1951. The Precision Bass can be considered the first true electric bass guitar, and its popularity was hugely influential in the development of country, jazz and rock 'n roll.

Tortoiseshell plastic pickguard
34-inch scale length, dot inlays
One volume, one tone control
It was basic, stripped down, totally playable, and it roared. The P bass totally revolutionized the way musicians approached “the bottom end” from 1951 onward.
This ‘72 P bass has a nice surprise up its sleeve; it has a smooth Fender L Series 1963 neck. The neck plate displaying the serial number L207**.
This particular P bass’s body was created in 1972 and finished in a beautiful dark sunburst. It appears to be totally original with its ‘72 original pickups present.
Apart from a little bark off around the body this instrument is in great condition. It certainly has the usual signs of player wear and would classify as player grade, but as we know, player wear is a good sign!
It has been played professionally, but not for some time. The neck is straight, the truss rod works, the tuners have some lovely, aged patina but are rock solid. The back of the neck is clean, and the original nut & bridge are in fine shape.
It plays well and sounds huge. A true original in terms of design and application – a classic instrument awaiting its next journey.
Comes in original hard Fender case.
