Martin D-18 - USA 2012

Here is a Martin D-18, one of the most iconic dreadnought acoustic guitars ever produced, originally introduced in 1931 as a more accessible alternative to the flagship D-28. Built on Martin’s legendary dreadnought platform, the D-18 has become a cornerstone of American acoustic music, known for its balance, clarity, and powerful projection.

This example features a solid spruce top paired with mahogany back and sides, delivering the classic D-18 tonal signature with strong midrange focus, warm low-end support, and clear, articulate trebles. The scalloped bracing enhances resonance and responsiveness, giving the guitar an open, dynamic voice with excellent projection.

This example features vintage-inspired appointments including open-geared tuners and traditional 18-style aesthetic details, combined with a modern low-profile neck shape that enhances comfort and playability while retaining its classic character. The result is a guitar that blends old-world tone with modern playing ease.

Playability is excellent, with a smooth neck feel and responsive setup that makes it highly comfortable across all positions. The guitar delivers strong dynamic range, reacting well to both light fingerstyle playing and more aggressive strumming.

Condition is excellent overall, having been well cared for since its purchase in 2012. There is a small repaired section of binding on the back and an added strap pin at the heel, with the remainder of the instrument remaining original and structurally sound.
