Here is a stunning sunburst Gibson SJ-200 built in 2020 at Gibson's Bozeman plant in Montana. The iconic SJ-200 has cemented its place in the rich history of American acoustic guitars - often heralded as the 'King of the Flattops'. Not many features have changed on these guitars since their first production in 1937, proving they got it right all the way back then, and continue to produce beautiful specimens such as this one.
The attention to detail on this guitar is exquisite with the double bound deep sunburst body, intricate 'crown' abalone fretboard inlay, the famous SJ-200 'moustache' bridge, gold grover tuners and hardware and the unmistakable brown tortoise pickguard with gold floral pattern.
Named the 'King' for many reasons, but likely the most prominent is the sound it produces - rich warm tones, deep and balanced with beautiful resonance and sustain. It's one of those acoustics that you pick up, strum one chord and just know its one you must have. Equipped with a stock LR Baggs Anthem pickup, the SJ-200 sounds just as good plugged in as it does acoustically, largely due to the Anthem pickup's dual microphone system allowing the player to blend between both the TRU.MIC condenser microphone and the element pickup for the perfect balance in any room.
Being only 3 years old, this Gibson SJ-200 presents in near new condition. The top, sides and back are unblemished, the fretboard is clean and the frets show almost zero wear at all. The neck has one small nick in the lacquer around the 5th fret mark, but doesn't affect playability in any way. The action is low and there are no dead spots or buzzing apparent - this guitar is set up to play!
Guaranteed years of enjoyment for the person who next picks up this guitar and takes it on a journey - a bedroom strummer, a singer/songwriter or a big stage ballad performer - this is the guitar for you!
Comes in its Original Gibson hardshell case in excellent condition.
