Fender '65 Deluxe Reverb 1 x 12" Combo - USA 2012

The Deluxe Reverb is one of the true cornerstones of Fender's amp lineup, first introduced in 1963 as part of the blackface generation that also gave us the Twin Reverb and Princeton Reverb. It found the perfect middle ground in the range, louder and more powerful than a Princeton but far more portable than a Twin, and its built in spring reverb and tube tremolo made it an instant favourite in clubs and recording studios alike. The AB763 circuit that powers it has gone on to become one of the defining clean American guitar tones of all time, used on countless studio recordings and adopted as standard backline gear by session players across Nashville and Los Angeles for decades, with players like Mike Campbell of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers famously relying on one in the studio. It remains one of the most recorded amplifiers in the history of the electric guitar.

This example is a genuine Fender '65 Deluxe Reverb reissue, USA built in 2012, serial number AC122750, finished in classic black tolex with silver and black grille cloth and the chrome control panel. It runs the correct two channel layout, a Normal channel with Volume, Treble and Bass, and a Vibrato channel adding Reverb, Speed and Intensity controls for the amp's signature spring reverb and tube tremolo, all driven by a 12" Jensen speaker. Under the hood it carries the correct tube complement of a 5AR4 rectifier, a pair of 6V6 power tubes and 12AX7 and 12AT7 preamp tubes for 22 watts of genuine blackface era tone and touch sensitivity.

Condition is excellent, presenting as a clean, well cared for example with tidy tolex, a bright grille cloth and a clean control panel showing no significant wear. It comes complete with a genuine Fender cover, in this case a Twin Reverb cover which is oversized for the Deluxe Reverb cabinet but fits and functions perfectly well as protection for transport and storage. This is a genuinely great sounding example of one of the most important amps Fender has ever made, equally at home in the studio or on stage.
