Electro-Harmonix MEL9 Tape Replay Machine - USA 2016

The Electro-Harmonix MEL9 recreates the sound of a genuine Mellotron, the tape-replay keyboard behind so many classic string, flute and choir sounds from the late 1960s onward, and packs it into a pedal that tracks guitar (or bass, or any instrument down to 55Hz) with real polyphonic accuracy rather than the glitchy tracking older pitch-to-MIDI style units are known for.

Nine selectable voices cover the classic Mellotron tape bank: Orchestra (including a sub-octave for extra weight), solo Cello, a four-piece String section, Flutes, Clarinet, Saxophone, Brass, and Low and High Choir settings. Dry Vol and Effect Vol controls let you blend the untreated signal against the Mellotron voice, while Attack and Sustain shape how each note swells in and fades out, mimicking the real tape-based instrument's characteristic swell (on the Brass setting, these same controls instead govern a filter sweep and "lip buzz" character). Separate buffered Dry and Effect outputs are provided for running the two signals independently.

Comes complete with its original box, pouch and the included Electro-Harmonix paperwork. Condition is excellent, as new.
