Benedetto Custom GA-35 - USA 2014

Here is a Benedetto GA-35 semi-hollow electric guitar, a rare custom-order instrument from one of the world’s premier archtop builders founded by Bob Benedetto in 1968. This GA-35 represents Benedetto’s refined take on a compact ES-style semi-hollow design, built during 2014 under Bob Benedetto’s final period of direct workshop oversight before his retirement, making it a significant instrument from the brand’s modern history. 

This example features a chambered mahogany body with a highly flamed maple top, delivering a warm, resonant low end with clear articulation and a lively, responsive feel. It has been fitted with a set of Seymour Duncan Joe Bonamassa ’59 Custom Shop humbuckers, a limited run of 1,959 sets worldwide, hand-signed and designed to recreate classic 1959 PAF tone using Alnico 2 and Alnico 3 magnets for expressive dynamics and vintage character. 

The Liberator system allows for solder-free pickup changes, with the original Benedetto pickups also included. The guitar plays with a low, comfortable action and flatwound .012s, offering smooth jazz warmth with excellent clarity and dynamic headroom, easily moving from clean tones through to blues and driven textures.

 Condition is very good with minor cosmetic wear consistent with careful use, and it remains an excellent example of Benedetto craftsmanship. Comes in its original custom Hoffee carbon fibre flight case with integrated tracking chip.
