The Beatles are a band that had it all. They had money, fame, and a litany of luxurious guitars at their disposal. It may surprise some that, of all the options available to them, the Epiphone Casino was the most popular guitar among the fab four. George Harrison, Paul McCartney and John Lennon each possessed one of these. Jimmy Hendrix inspired Paul to purchase his 1964 Epiphone Casino, and George and John followed suit with their 1965 Epiphone Casinos. The entirety of Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band is laced with the raw P90 tones of these fabulous instruments. Other notable players include Keith Richards, Noel Gallagher, Gary Clark Jr., Dwight Yoakam and Josh Homme.

This Casino appears to be in completely original condition. And it’s a sweet thing. Light and responsive, it is super playable, with a slim taper neck and original medium frets with some wear but still plenty of life.

The nut is a little narrower than its Gibson cousins at 39.22mm which may suit a player with smaller or slender fingers.

But the sound is its distinctive characteristic. The P-90s have a spanky and warm tone with good mid-bass response, especially when the volume is rolled off at low levels.

This one is in great shape. Neck is straight, truss rod works perfectly, tuners are strong & stable, controls clean and quiet. It features a clean white pickguard where the famous Epiphone "E" outline can be seen - just! There is some wear around the body but is remarkably clean for its age - a fine specimen.

The guitar was bought in London in 1991 by a member of a high-profile Aussie band. It has been used on some significant recordings & video clips in its time - so it has a place in Aussie music history to boot.

A wonderful guitar soaked in history that would be a fantastic addition to any collection.
