Operating out of Southern Europe, Wizz builds in small numbers rather than chasing volume of production, with each set hand wound and assembled by an expert with decades of experience and every set individually numbered. The mission is authenticity above all, matched bobbins, correct magnet types, period correct wire and construction methods, all aimed squarely at recreating the sound and feel of an unopened, all original 1959 PAF humbucker as closely as modern parts and craftsmanship allow. It is exactly this obsessive attention to detail that has made Wizz a genuine go to name for players and luthiers restoring or building vintage style instruments who want the real thing rather than an approximation of it.

This is a genuine Wizz Premium Clone PAF Humbucker set, built with sand cast, USA made Alnico magnets and custom 42 AWG plain enamel wire on cellulose acetate butyrate bobbins in light cream, matched to the bobbins found in unopened 1959 PAFs, and finished with the correct aged butyrate M69 white pickup rings. Both pickups are fitted with nickel silver covers in the correct TV shape with nickel plating, and threaded nickel silver baseplates carrying the silk screened "Patent Applied For" decal, exactly as period correct examples would have. The set is built to the classic slightly understaffed neck and bridge DC resistance pairing that gives genuine PAFs their clarity, dynamic range and touch sensitivity, rather than the higher output, more compressed voicing of later humbucker designs.

Condition is near new, supplied in Wizz's own branded foam lined presentation box, complete with the braided two strand hookup wiring left uninstalled and ready to be fitted. Please note the box is missing its lid, though this has no bearing whatsoever on the pickups themselves. This is about as close as you can get to a genuine unopened 1959 PAF without sourcing the real, and now extremely rare and expensive, vintage original.
