Mosrite
Vintage Mosrite Celebrity III - USA 1967
Pickup currently unavailable
Mosrite Guitars, founded by Semie Moseley in 1952 in California, gained fame in the 1960s. The iconic Ventures model, endorsed by The Ventures, propelled Mosrite to prominence. Known for innovative designs and craftsmanship, the company faced financial challenges in the late '60s. Changes in ownership followed, and revival attempts occurred in the 1980s and 1990s. Despite its ups and downs, vintage Mosrite guitars, with their unique designs and association with influential musicians, remain highly sought after by collectors and players.
The Mosrite Celebrity series began manufacturing in 1964 with this particular model, a Celebrity III being a 1967 build. The Celebrity III would best compare to a Gibson ES-330 with its fully hollow body and very similar playability. The body of the guitar is arched spruce with a nice flame-maple back and sides. It is equipped with a 3-bolt maple neck with rosewood fretboard. The pickups are Mosrite black humbuckers with a single volume, single tone knob and three-way pickup selector. It comes with the Mosrite Moseley Tremolo system that works well and maintains good tune.
This guitar is in excellent shape for a 56-year-old instrument. The neck is clean and smooth, there are very few marks, dings or dents on the body. the frets are in good shape with plenty of life and the Mosrite humbuckers sound mighty! This is a wonderful bit of history, a unique and special find that is a joy to play!
Comes in a non-original hard shell case.
