Here is a custom-built JMI Amplification Company 30-watt amplifier, produced specifically for The Shadows’ 50th Anniversary tour. Built to classic Top Boost specifications, this unique amplifier holds significant historical value, having been extensively used on tour by Hank B. Marvin, one of the most influential guitarists of the era.
Adding to its exceptional provenance, the amplifier is personally signed by all members of The Shadows on the top plate and control panel, with an additional signature from Cliff Richard on the rear panel. These inscriptions elevate it far beyond a working amplifier, positioning it as a highly significant piece of rock and roll memorabilia.
The amplifier features a traditional black Tolex covering paired with a brown grille cloth, reflecting a classic British aesthetic consistent with JMI’s vintage-inspired design ethos. It is fitted with a pair of 2x12” Tayden Alnico speakers, known for their warm, detailed response and smooth top-end clarity, making them ideal for the signature clean and melodic tones associated with The Shadows.
