Vintage Gibson SG Standard - USA 1965
Pickup currently unavailable
Here is a 1965 Gibson SG Standard in Cherry, a classic mid-’60s example from a key transitional period, featuring the slimmer neck profile introduced during this era for a faster and more compact feel. The SG Standard built on the success of Gibson’s redesigned solidbody line, offering lightweight construction, sharp double cutaways, and excellent upper fret access.
This example retains its original patent sticker humbuckers and four 1965 dated potentiometers, delivering a clear, open tone with plenty of warmth and bite. It is fitted with the Maestro Vibrola and original Kluson Deluxe double line tuners, maintaining its authentic vintage character. The guitar has had a professional refret, resulting in smooth playability while preserving the feel of the original neck.
Condition is very good with light player wear, minor blemishes, and some natural finish checking consistent with its age, with everything functioning as it should. A well-balanced and highly playable vintage SG Standard with strong originality. Comes with the original Gibson hard shell case.
