The Vox AC-10, first introduced in 1959, was designed to bridge the gap between Vox’s AC-4 and AC-15 models. It originally featured 12 watts of power and a single 10” speaker, while the AC-10 Twin, released in 1962, came with an additional speaker. This version simplifies the AC-15’s design, offering a tremolo circuit and universal tone control.
For its 60 years, this amp is in exceptional condition. The original black tolex covering has remained remarkably intact, with very little wear to speak of. The grille cloth is also in excellent shape, showing very little damage. Both the original badge and handle are in great condition. The control plate and plastics are well-preserved, showing minimal signs of use.
Internally, there have been a few minor repairs, but the amp retains its vintage integrity. Both speakers have been upgraded to two 10" Weber Blue Pups, known for their vintage British tone. The original speakers are included in the sale, boxed and ready for use. The amp has been professionally converted to Australian 240V, and the original footswitch is included.
Sonically, this AC-10 delivers the unmistakable Vox chime, producing warm, articulate cleans and rich, harmonic overdrive when pushed.
