    ENQUIRE ABOUT THIS PRODUCT

This 1979 Ibanez Artist 2630 is a rare and exceptional semi-hollow body guitar that showcases the pinnacle of Ibanez craftsmanship during the late '70s. Discontinued in mid-1979 to make way for the AS200, this may be one of the last 2630s produced. As part of the prestigious Artist series, the 2630 was designed for discerning players seeking an instrument that could excel in jazz, rock, blues, and beyond, with superb tonal versatility and style. During this period, Ibanez had established itself as a leader in high-quality guitar production, offering instruments that often rivaled or surpassed their American counterparts. The Artist 2630 is a shining example of this era of innovation and quality.

The Artist 2630 features a double-cutaway semi-hollow maple body with a solid center block, delivering a perfect balance of warmth and clarity while minimizing feedback. Its 22-fret ebony fingerboard is bound and adorned with exquisite abalone block inlays, offering a premium look and smooth playability. The set neck construction enhances sustain and resonance, while dual Ibanez Super 80 "Flying Finger" humbuckers provide a dynamic tonal range, from warm, articulate cleans to biting overdriven tones. Additional features include a tune-o-matic-style bridge with a stop tailpiece, Sure-Grip control knobs for precise adjustments, and meticulous attention to detail in every aspect of its construction.

In excellent player condition, this 1979 Artist 2630 has been well-used but remains fully functional and ready for the stage or studio. The finish shows little signs of age, only a few light marks, adding to its vintage character without affecting its performance. Frets exhibit very little wear, and all electronics and hardware although nicely tarnished, work as intended. This guitar is not just an instrument but a piece of Ibanez history, combining timeless aesthetics, versatile sound, and exceptional craftsmanship.

Comes in its original Ibanez HSC.
