Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul SG Standard - USA 2014

In 1961, the new SG (solid guitar) body shape with double pointed cutaway was originally intended to bring a new style to the Les Paul line. But following Les Paul´s disapproval of the new design, they were renamed the SG during 1963. The first two years of SG production (1961 to end of 1963) in this series have Les Paul logos on their headstocks or the area below the fingerboard.

This excellent SG certainly stays true to the original with its Polaris White finish, nickel hardware and two Gibson Custombuckers taking up their position between the tune-o-matic bridge and the 'Les Paul' label. The mahogany neck is a comfortable C-shape and features the familiar 43.7mm (1 11/16") nut width. The ebony fingerboard has been dressed with white binding and pearl block inlays.

Other features include pearl Gibson and Custom logo headstock inlay, stopbar tailpiece, standard Les Paul control layout and a 5-ply black pickguard. The tuners are high quality Kluson Deluxes.

This beautiful guitar was built in 2014, and it even has its original shop tags in tow. It presents in excellent condition. A few minor marks that can hardly be seen, and some very light tarnishing on the pickup covers. Apart from that you’d be hard pressed to find any flaws on this one. The white finish has mellowed to a lovely cream, and the original Gibson medium jumbo frets are in excellent condition.

It plays great and sounds fantastic. It feels balanced and comfortable, with killer pickups and unparalleled access to the uppermost frets.

Comes with original Gibson Custom hard-shell case in excellent condition.
