Here is a stunning 1959 Gibson Les Paul Junior Double Cut in Faded Cherry, a late-’50s example of one of Gibson’s most iconic stripped-back electric guitars. Originally introduced in 1954 as a student model, the Les Paul Junior quickly became a cult classic for its raw tone, resonant mahogany body, and no-frills rock ’n’ roll attitude. The double cutaway version, introduced in 1958, added improved upper fret access and a sleeker, more aggressive design, with 1959 examples now among the most sought-after of the range.

This example features a lightweight mahogany body finished in beautifully aged Faded Cherry, now developed into a warm orange-toned patina that only decades of natural wear can produce. It retains its single original dog-ear P-90 pickup, delivering the unmistakable Les Paul Junior voice—raw, raunchy, and highly responsive, with a strong midrange growl and excellent dynamic sensitivity.
