Wow – here’s a find !

This is a fabulous vintage ’58 Strat in completely original condition. It looks to us like the only thing changed on this guitar have been the strings. Everything else has been left the way it was the day it came out of Fender’s Fullerton facility in 1958.

Three white plastic-covered black-bottom single-coil pickups with staggered polepieces

Single-layer white plastic pickguard with eight screws

Three controls (one volume, two tone) plus three-way selector switch

White plastic knobs with black lettering

Fender combined bridge/tailpiece (six-pivot bridge/vibrato unit with through-body stringing)

Pot codes are "304825" (Stackpole June 1958).

Weight is 7.55 lbs

The original cloth wiring in place, nothing touched, solder appears undisturbed. Ashtray bridge cover present and accounted for (pic to come), as is the trem arm and spring cavity backplate. The word “Josie” is inscribed in the control cavity.

This is a magnificent guitar in every way. Apart from strings and the occasional setup, it looks to us to have been left untouched and unmolested, in its original condition for 64 years.

The original 3 colour sunburst nitro lacquer is still bright with quite a lot of red in the transition, and showing very little fading. The frets are in fine shape with lots of life left in them. Everything works as it should. It plays beautifully and sounds amazing.

Can’t fault this one. It would be an absolute standout in any collection.

Comes in its original Fender tweed hard case in good condition.
