Vintage Fender L-Series Stratocaster - USA 1965

Here is a beautifully preserved 1965 Fender Stratocaster (Serial: L64***), a true transitional-era example from the shift between pre-CBS and early CBS Fender production. Finished in its original three-tone sunburst, this Strat has aged gracefully over nearly six decades while retaining its classic vintage character with no refinishing or structural cracks.

This example retains its original single-coil pickups dated 9/21/65, delivering the classic mid-’60s Strat tone, chimey, articulate, and highly dynamic. The second tone pot is original and dated 6532 (August ’65), while the volume and first tone pots have been replaced. It features a modern 3-way switch with the original tip retained, preserving vintage feel with improved reliability.

Playability is excellent with a refret and replaced bone nut ensuring smooth performance across the neck. The Indian rosewood fretboard remains in great condition with four small drop fills and a naturally worn, played-in feel. The neck is comfortable and responsive, offering the classic Strat playing experience.

The body remains completely unmodified with no additional routs, preserving original resonance and structure. The pickguard and aluminium shielding plate are intact. Tuners have been upgraded to Gotoh reissues for stability, while the original collets are still present. Original two tone knobs remain, with the volume knob replaced.

Condition is very good for its age with honest vintage wear throughout. Comes housed in a genuine Fender hard shell case.
