    ENQUIRE ABOUT THIS PRODUCT

The Kay Guitar Company, founded in 1931 by Henry "Kay" Kuhrmeyer in Chicago, Illinois, initially focused on crafting traditional orchestral instruments like banjos and mandolins. However, it wasn't long before the company expanded its product line to include guitars in the 1940s.

What set Kay apart was its commitment to making musical instruments accessible to a broader audience. Throughout the 1950s, Kay became one of the largest guitar manufacturers in the United States, gaining a reputation for producing affordable and mass-produced instruments. As the demand for electric guitars and basses grew in the 1950s, Kay played a significant role in this evolution, introducing models like the Thin Twin electric guitar and the K-161 "Traveller" bass.

The Kay K113 3/4 guitar model was produced between 1966 and 1968. This particular K113 presents in great condition. It sports a spruce top, mahogany back and sides. Tortoise binding around the soundhole and black front and back binding on the body. A toirtoise-shell pickguard and a rosewood fretboard. It has a chunky 'C' profile neck and is a lot of fun to play. A fantastic guitar to take on the road for a strum in any situation.

Comes equipped with an aftermarket Fishman pickup that sounds fantastic, valued at $500 on its own. Comes in a gigbag in good condition.
