Even when unplugged, this guitar impresses you immediately with a strong acoustic resonance and clear projection. Once plugged in, the addition of the unique master volume control really does prove useful for balancing the overall dynamics from the instrument - very helpful for quick adjustments in a live situation. And the dual humbuckers offer up all the gloriously rich tones you’d expect from a high-end Gibson guitar.
This one has had an excellent pro refret and new nut supplied by Jeff Mallia who is widely regarded as one of Australia’s best luthiers. Jeff also hand-made the delightful little rosewood trapeze damper – see pics.
Other upgrades include some new Kluson Deluxe tuners and Gibson ABR-1 bridge. Both the original tuners and bridge are in the case.
This is a very versatile guitar which would suit players who require a wide range of high quality tones to suit a number of styles. We found it equally at home with anything from funk rhythm guitar right through to warm Wes Montgomery style jazz tones. Blues players and classic rockers especially will also enjoy this guitar when overdriven through a good tube amp or pedals.
The guitar is in excellent condition throughout with only minor cosmetic wear which is very hard to see. It feels wonderful to play with a super neck, great action and easy access to upper registers via the twin cutaways.
Comes in a snug fitting TSA hard case in new condition.
