SOLD - Takamine F-307 S – Japan 1978

by Takamine

$995.00 18215

In 1975 Takamine exported their first acoustics to the USA. By 1977 the company had undertaken a huge leap forward in quality control, and the results were certainly showing by 1978, which remains one of the best years for Takamine guitars.

This is Takamine’s take on a mid 70s Martin 00-18, and comparison with the original is not unreasonable. The “S” in the model name denotes a solid top, not laminate.

This small-body acoustic has a gorgeous voice with warm, rich tones and a lively top end. It has a semi-chunky mahogany neck with cream side-dots. Beautiful rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. Frets show minor wear, but have plenty of life in them. Chrome sealed tuners are in perfect working condition. The neck is straight & truss rod works fine.

This one is all original down to the bone saddle and nut, and its fab Martin style “lawsuit” logo. It’s in very good condition with only minor dings and scratches. It has been nicely set up with a medium low action so it plays easy without fret buzz anywhere. Besides being a quality instrument at a bargain price, this guitar is super fun to play and is great for any style of music.

Comes in a later hard case in good condition.
