When is a Gibson not a Gibson ?
Steve Hague runs a business named Build a Burst in Indiana USA. As you can see, he specialises in building replicas of probably the most sought after collectible electric guitar of them all – the 1959 Gibson Les Paul Burst. His work is painstakingly meticulous, and it often takes two years or more for an order to be fulfilled.
He doesn’t try to pass them off as the real deal, and is not trying to fool anybody. But his desire to build the most accurate 59 Burst possible is exemplified in the effort he goes to in order to source old stock of wood, parts and components – sometimes from the very same suppliers that Gibson used in the 1950s.

We have been all over this guitar since it came in for consignment, and the ultimate conclusion is that it is possibly the most authentic recreation of sunburst ’59 Les Paul we’ve ever seen. And that includes some rather excellent guitars from Gibson Custom Shop. We do not say this lightly, but if you could actually see, feel, play & hear this guitar you may come to understand why we are so impressed.
Comes with an early 70s vintage Gibson hard case in excellent condition.
