Sandberg is a respected German manufacturer, primarily known for their high quality basses. This is their foray into the world of electric sold bodies
From Sandberg –
“Manufactured in Korea and painstakingly assembled by hand in Germany, Sandberg offers master craftsmanship and drop-dead good-looks at an affordable price. The Sandberg Electra DC with Butterscotch combines vintage looks and details with modern precision and electronics.
The sound of Sandberg guitars is as crafted as their appearance. Sandberg's own Vintage-Power pickups are mounted to deliver classic T-style tone while the wood types used only enhance this. The swamp ash body beneath the high-gloss finish has been modified to subtly deviate from the T-style from which it's derived. The Canadian hard-rock-maple fretboard and rosewood fingerboard on the model seen here are really just a glimpse of the options available when designing your very own hand-made Sandberg.
The push-pull volume pot puts the two single-coils in series and gives this Sandberg DC a unique edge and flexibility. The effect is a thickening of sound, as if a humbucker is hidden somewhere. The hardware is also machined with precision and while the three string-saddles are faithful to those of a 50s T-style, they offer heaps of compensation for this instrument's impeccable intonation. Up top, the machine heads are fitted with Kluson back-locks for incredibly fast string changes.”
