Over time the neck joint at the heel had started to open up, affecting the action. So when this one was consigned we took it to Luke Parry of Northern Beaches Guitar Repairs in Sydney for some TLC.
Over the course of a week, Luke carefully reglued the joint, drip feeding a solution of thin but super strong glue to ensue that joint will never move again. It’s probably stronger now than it was when new back in 1975.
But the reglued joint is there and we have provided pics in our listing. There is also some wear from a guitar stand just above the repair, but it is cosmetic only.
Accordingly, these issues have been taken into account with its pricing. The good news is that this 80/6 now plays with a nice medium low action, and sounds just fine. It has plenty of fret life left, tuning & harmonics are good, and it is now structurally sound.
This is a fine 70s Maton acoustic, with 45 years under its belt, and good for another few decades of service.
Comes in a near new Maton hard case in excellent condition.
