$995.00 20083SOLD
The Ibanez R-400 "Ragtime Special" is a spruce/mahogany acoustic with full 24-fret neck - yes, two octaves at least for the top two strings - with styling very reminiscent of Django Reinhardt's Maccaferri Selmer acoustic.
The compact body size - 15" lower bout and 4" body depth - and mahogany body contribute to a nice bright tone - perfect for ragtime! And the back is arched, so it delivers a big, full sound.
Built in Japan in 1981, the guitar shows incredible craftsmanship and attention to detail, with stunning inlay and binding work, and is fitted with high quality appointments.
This is a very interesting and individual guitar. It has a full 25.5” neck scale, the nut is 1 ¾” wide. It has been set up well with an easy playing action.
This guitar has been incredibly well looked after, and is in excellent, original condition. It has a little bark off on top of the headstock, but no splits, cracks or repairs. The woods have mellowed over the years to display a beautiful lushness to the finish that only time can bring. There is very little fret wear showing, the neck set is perfect, tuners are solid, and neck is straight with a fully functioning truss rod.
Overall this is a quite unique, characterful and rare acoustic guitar, in great condition at a very affordable price. Finger pickers will like this one.
Comes in a later hard shell case in good condition.
