This is a Vintage Custom 1959 Strat built by Fender Custom Shop in 2018. It has also been given a major treatment by Historic Makeovers in Florida before being shipped to Australia.
From Fender –
“1959 was a pivotal year in the annals of Stratocaster history. It was the first year that modern features, such as rosewood fingerboards and the now-iconic 3-Colour Sunburst finish made their initial appearance. The Vintage Custom 1959 Stratocaster sports both a slab rosewood fingerboard and a sumptuous chocolate 3-Colour Sunburst finish, as well as some other cool and rare features from the Stratocaster's formative years.
The flash-coat lacquer finish lets the guitar breathe more freely and organically for singing sustain and warm tone. The neck features a vintage 7.25"- 9.5" compound radius, which we found on some rare examples, giving it a unique feel even among vintage-inspired models. It also features medium vintage frets, which are slightly larger than regular vintage and very comfortable to play.
Other features found on this guitar include a 2-piece select alder body, tinted rift-sawn maple neck with '59 "C"-shaped neck profile, 21 medium vintage frets, hand-wound '59 Strat single-coil pickups, 5-way switch, vintage wiring, 3-ply mint green nitrocellulose pickguard, American Vintage synchronised tremolo bridge, bone nut, wing string tree and vintage-style tuning machines.
The Vintage Custom 1959 Stratocaster is the legendary guitar you know and love infused with '59 mojo.”
The lightweight select Alder body is finished in a stunning Chocolate 3-Tone Sunburst NOS, period correct, this finish will wear beautifully with time and develop its own character even further. It also allows the natural resonance of the body to sing and sustain much more effectively compared with other finishes. The NOS (New Old Stock) finish gives the appearance of a new (but old) guitar, one that has been perfectly preserved since 1959 and doesn't feature any kind of ageing or relic work.
The 1-piece tinted rift sawn Maple neck features a 7.25"-9.5" radius for a superb playing action without any choking. The 1959 C profile and 21 medium vintage frets offers a really comfortable playing experience, while the AAA grade Rosewood neck is a real highlight of this guitar and features vintage clay dot inlays.
With a trio of handwound Fender Custom Shop 59 pickups it delivers all the sweeping, versatile tones you would expect from a Strat. Rich and smooth, it's a premium Stratocaster tone.

So all of the above adds up to one fine guitar. But the story doesn’t stop there. The owner of this guitar bought it direct from a reputed US dealer, and then had it sent to Historic Makeovers of Lake Mary, Florida.
From Historic Makeovers – https://historicmakeovers.com/
“HISTORIC MAKEOVERS® is committed to making your guitar look and feel just like its beloved vintage brethren from 1959. With processes originally developed by vintage guitar enthusiast Kim LaFleur, Historic Makeovers® is proud to be the gold standard in complete vintage makeovers. We have a team of specialists working together with one goal in mind: to produce the most accurate, most vintage correct makeovers the world has ever seen. All our original processes have been retooled and reformulated to make the best even better. Every single detail has been re-examined and improved.”
Kim LaFleur and his team then stripped this Strat back to the wood, rounded off the neck edges & frets, and refinished the guitar is period correct 1950s nitrocellulose lacquer, including 100 hours slow cooking in their refinishing oven. The back of the neck was also sanded smooth to replicate the feel of a true well used 50s instrument.
The result is the nearest thing to owning an original late 50’s Strat. What was already a very accurate rendition of a late 50s Strat from Fender Custom Shop has now been tweaked to ensure this one is as vintage as it comes without another couple of 0’s on the price.
It has been nicely set up so it plays beautifully and sounds like a vintage Strat should.
Comes in its deluxe Fender Custom Shop case with a suite of case candy including tags, Certificate of Authenticity from Fender signed by Chris Fleming, Certificate of Authenticity from Historic Makeovers signed by Kim LaFleur, full detailed spec sheet, ash tray bridge cover and leather strap.
